Ogoh-Ogoh procession is a creative expression of the Hindu community in Bali over the meanings of Nyepi. Hindus created Ogoh-Ogoh with a shape like a demon and forms a symbol of the negative traits that should be merged so as not to interfere with human life. Ogoh-Ogoh raised by some people around the streets of the village as a symbol of the sacred cycle turnaround heading into the new year "Caka". After that ogoh-ogoh are burned as a symbol smelting negative things. The entire highway will be filled by people who wanted to watch the parade of ogoh-ogoh. Ogoh-ogoh procession is very interested in the community who want to see the creativity of the various regions. Procession Ogoh-Ogoh contains two meanings: 1) express their religious values and sacred space-time based on religious literatures, 2) is a creative work that is channeled through the expression of beauty and togetherness.












Nyepi is the Hindu feast day is celebrated every New Year "Caka". On Nyepi Hindus meditate for inner and outer self-cleaning. Cleansing of all the sins that have been done during the life of the world and beg the Almighty to be given the power to be able to run a better life in the future. Nyepi is derived from the word '' quiet '' (silent) which is the Hindu New Year celebration by Caka calendar. On Nyepi, all the Hindus in Bali contemplating himself to return into the sacred inner and outer man. Therefore, all activities in Bali abolished, public facilities only hospitals are open. The major international airport was also closed. So on that day all the way on the island of Bali deserted as cities that are uninhabited. Only a few security guard on the road. Security guard named "pecalang"

The whole ceremony is still being held, held and preserved throughout Bali today and become one of the attractions of indigenous culture that is priceless in the eyes of domestic and foreign tourists.
